Psychiatric Drugs are More Dangerous Than You Can Imagine

I came across a video this weekend I wanted to share with you made by Dr. Peter Breggin, a noted Psychiatrist whose warning reinforces many of the points we here at We the People have been working to open as many eyes as we can to the evils of Big Pharma…and lengths they will go to make a buck.

Hello again, it’s Ken Baxter here in Las Vegas and welcome to my blog. Dr. Breggin has been practicing Psychiatry since 1968 and has also been a scientific witness over 150 times in cases against drug companies. This includes suits against Eli Lily alleging their anti-depression medication, Prozac caused violence and suicide. The doctor presents a chilling indictment of electroshock therapy and psychiatric medications and especially the harm to children who are introduced behavior controlling stimulants such as Ritalin and Adderall at a very young age.

Dr. Breggin explains how the explosion of prescribing these drugs to young children has produced scientific research showing measurable shrinkage of brain tissue and a predisposition to addition to more lethal drugs in adulthood such as cocaine and heroin.

In fact, as we have stated before in previous posts about Big Pharma, most prescribers and patients have no idea how dangerous these drugs can be and if they did, they would probably pass on them.

How is it that even the prescribing physician can be so clueless about these drugs? As is sadly the case, most are getting their only information from the drug manufacturers. Sounds familiar doesn’t it? This was the same story about the drug OxyContin that helped fuel the opioid addiction crisis we are experiencing in our country today. Please click here to see our previous post on the opioid crisis.

Dr. Breggin also explains the high addiction rate to anti-depressant drugs such as Xanax, Valium. In fact, after just 6 weeks of clinical trials of the drug Xanax it was shown that the addiction to this drug was harder to shake than the opioids.

Long term consumption of anti-psychotic drugs such as Abilify, Latuda and Risperdal commonly prescribed for bi-polar disorder have been shown in studies to result in a 20 year reduced lifespan due to the resulting metabolic disorders including obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and more. Maybe that’s is the intent; each of the conditions I mentioned have numerous drugs that can also be prescribed to treat them.

And around and around we go. The drug company’s medication causes the side effects and they make money off the drugs developed to treat them.
