As we watch the manufactured turmoil going on around us in our country today it is clear that the majority of Americans have no idea what type of governmental system the United Sates operates under – do you? Most Americans are convinced, of course, it’s a Democracy! In fact, the United States is a Republic, based on the rule of law, not a Democracy, intentionally designed that way by our founding fathers. It is critical that people learn the difference if we want to preserve the freedoms we enjoy and our exceptional way of life before it is too late.
Hello, it’s Ken Baxter here on this fine October day from sunny but chilly Las Vegas, NV and welcome to my blog.
It brings to mind a video I came first came across a few years ago that has become one of my favorites. It amazes me how many people in this great country have no idea how our system of government works.
This spot on video will show you how a functioning government can descend into an Oligarchy when anarchists are introduced and people search for someone to restore order. It is frightening to see how the climate that is developing in the United States with the rise of Antifa, Socialists and others has put us on a slippery slope on the way to tyranny.
News anchors to political pundits warn about events and people that are dangerous to our Democracy, these people should know better! In fact, the word Democracy is not mentioned in the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution, for good reason. The founding fathers gave us the rule of law in a Republic not the rule of the majority in a Democracy.
A Republic must be nurtured and maintained. The mighty Roman Empire began as a Republic and became the envy of the world. It eventually dissolved into failure as the people became complacent and sinister forces gained control. I hope you enjoy this video as much as I did. It drives home how we the people of the United States are the stewards of the freedoms that we all take for granted.
